SERP Checker — Check Your SERP Position for Any Keyword
Your SERP position determines how much organic traffic you get. Here's how to check it accurately — and why the number you see in Google isn't your real position.
What is a SERP?
SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page — the page Google displays after someone types in a query. Every result on that page has a "position" — position 1 is the first result, position 10 is the last result on page 1, and position 11 starts page 2.
Modern SERPs contain more than just 10 blue links. They include featured snippets, local packs, image carousels, People Also Ask boxes, and more. Your organic position tells you where you sit among the standard results — but SERP features can push those results far down the page.
Why you can't trust manual SERP checks
If you Google your own keyword and count where your site appears — you're getting the wrong data. Google personalises your results in several ways:
- Search history:Sites you've visited before rank higher for you
- Location:Results are biased toward local businesses near you
- Google account:Logged-in searches are personalised to your interests
- Device type:Mobile and desktop results differ significantly
A proper SERP checker makes requests from a neutral IP, with no logged-in account and a specified location — giving you the true baseline position that most of your target audience would see.
